How is quarterly continuous redesign different from just having an ongoing retainer with a design agency?
Each quarter is a structured sprint with a defined output: one meaningful section redesigned, a new content type built, or a specific UX improvement shipped to production. It is not open-ended design time. You approve scope at the start of each quarter so you always know what’s being delivered.
What does the one-week discovery at the start of each quarter actually look like?
We pull analytics on the section in scope, interview the editors who own it, and do a content audit. You see the data we’re working from before any design starts. That discovery also feeds our recommendation for what to tackle the following quarter.
After three or four years, does this replace the need for a full redesign?
That’s the intent and what we see in practice with long-term clients. After eight to twelve quarters you’ve effectively redesigned the entire site, section by section, informed by real usage data, without the disruption of a site-wide rebuild. You also avoid the ‘launch and forget’ decay that major redesigns typically suffer.
What platforms does this program work on?
We run Continuous Redesign on the platforms we support: WordPress on Pantheon or WP VIP, and Drupal on Acquia. The program is designed to work within your existing tech stack, not require a platform change.
At $8,000 per month, what am I getting for that investment?
One-week discovery, a complete design pass on one defined scope, production build and staging review, deployment, and a quarterly analytics readout.
